Safety Doesn't Take a Holiday

In early August, when it was approximately 176 degrees outside, we attended National Night Out where Grandma and Papa live. Papa helped out with the event and we went with him to get an early start on the demonstrations and drawings. There we got materials on Poison Control, kid id kits, and household safety. Jenna enjoyed the climb in the ambulance and the firetruck. Her favorite part? She won a bicycle helmet! For the next three consecutive nights, she wore it during snuggle time. Mommy drew the line at wearing it to bed.

It was fun to see her so excited about winning something. I was glad to encourage this new enthusiasm, but couldn't help feeling a little uncomfortable with the new bedtime routine. She looks like an accident prone kid belonging to a paranoid mother in these pictures. You know how dangerous snuggle time can get, Look out!
